September 25, 2010

Today started out with breakfast at House of Flavors. Then for most of the early afternoon, we all hung out at the main cabin while all the kids played at the playground. Jen and I organized an appetizer pot luck luncheon. It was a great success. I think everyone participated and there were a lot of people saying how great it was and that we should do it again next year. We all got to sample a lot of good food. Wings, ribs, bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers, several great dips, hot and cold. And plenty of beer to go around.

A few of us went to Sportsman's to watch the ND game. Jon and I only stayed till half time. We went back to the cabin to have some more fun. We didn't want to be walking around pissed off all day, so we stopped watching the game. We played Bocce on the lawn until it was time to get ready for the shrimp boil.

The shrimp boil has become an annual tradition. This is the 3rd year Jay has organized it. It was superb, as always.

At the fire pit that night, we set of some sky lanterns. I set off a ND one for good luck. They need it. My mom and dad both set off plain white ones that they wrote messages on to their parents. It was touching.
